Dinard France

In April of 2006, while working for Thomson, I attended 3 days of meetings in Dinard France with co-workers. We spent a few days before the meetings and a few days after the meetings touring northern France. Our Flight Arrived in Paris in the early morning on Sunday, April 2nd. We rented a car and drove to Rouen, arriving there around 10am.

We spent the morning of April 2nd at the Rouen Cathedral.
This Cathedral was the subject for a series of paintings by Claude Monet.
Rouen Cathedral was the tallest building in the world (151 m) from 1876 to 1880.

We left Rouen in the afternoon, and stopped in a town called Pont-L'Eveque for lunch. After lunch we drove around Normandy and visited Omaha Beach. Below are a few pictures of some German Bunkers at Omaha Beach.

After Omaha Beach, we drove to our hotel in Dinard. We checked into the hotel on Sunday night. We spent 5 nights in Dinard and attended meetings on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Below is a picture of the Hotel, and a picture of the view from my hotel room.

On Monday morning, we went to Mont St. Michel, a rocky tidal island in Normandy.

Monday afteroon, we had lunch at a walled city called St. Malo. We spent the rest of the afternoon touring this city. (post card picture)

We spent all day Tuesday just hanging out in Dinard. Then, we had 3 days of meetings. On Friday we checked out of our hotel in Dinard and took a bus to Rennes and then we took the TGV (high speed train) to Paris. We arrived in Paris on friday night. After checking into our hotel, we went to see the Eiffel Tower at night.

After Seeing the Eiffel Tour we went to dinner at La Coupole.

The next day (Saturday) we spent the day touring Paris. We made sure to visit all the popular tourist spots.

Sunday Morning we left Paris and flew back home.
